My journey begins, but what happens now?
Last week I finally found out that I’ve been offered a position at my current company as a part of their management team! The road to a successful job hunt is challenging, but rewarding. I’m extremely excited, since I will obtain a mentor that will help connect me with leaders in different divisions, particularly the IT leaders while also helping my peers continue to be successful in their roles. This will gear me into project management, which could potentially make me a leader in that department. I’d be able to learn so much from other software engineers. I will commit to this position for 2 years, but I will make sure I continue to program everyday.
After discussing the news with my career coach, my acceptance of the job will relocate me across the country and terminate my current job search. I get to keep the organizational tools that will help me remain successful in my journey.
In other news, I still have to complete my code challenge with IBM for their Front-End Developer position. I will use this challenge along with Hackerrank for additional practice to consistently get better at algorithms and data structures. The way I solve problems will help my company as well as myself find unique ways to solve complex issues.
